The differing needs to report upon Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) within WA Health has resulted in the development of multiple reporting tools.

The tools use different data sources, software and methods of communicating. Jo Reid, Principal Nursing Advisor from the Nursing and Midwifery Office will introduce the session with background information on NHpPD while Suki Loe, WA’s most senior and experienced nurse informatician leader will analyse the reporting tools to better understand the features of each.

Target audience:
- Nurses
- Midwives
- Health business managers, informaticians, analysts and developers

Learning objectives:
1. Describe the history and evolution of NHpPD
2. Define the elements of the NHpPD calculation
3. Identify and compare NHpPD reporting tools
