Update from HISA's Board Chair and CSIRO’s e-Health research - a Health and Biomedical Informatics Research Program

Dr David Hansen Chair, HISA Board and CEO, The Australian E-Health Research Centre, CSIRO

David is the current Chair of the HISA Board for the past 2 years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with the HISA staff and fellow Board Directors. He is proud and excited about the new initiatives that the board has introduced for members – such as professional certification (CHIA), the webinar series, growth in the HIC conference and our advocacy and leadership efforts. The state branches and SIGs have never been stronger or more active. These and soon-to-be-announced initiatives are thanks to HISA’s active, engaged and growing membership. HISA has an important role to play in the ongoing efforts to introduce digital technologies into healthcare to improve Australia’s health system. David is keen to continue to work with HISA members to meet this challenge. In his ‘day job’ David is CEO of the Australian e-Health Research Centre, CSIRO’s e-Health Research Program, leading 80 CSIRO scientists and engineers in e-Health research and implementation projects around Australia.

HISA TAS members are invited stay after the presentations to participate in the HISA TAS AGM.
