HISA currently has branches in 4 Australian States - New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. In addition, the South Australian branch will be re-established in February.

HISA has 13 special interest groups (SIGs). Each SIG is run by a committed group of volunteers and some are run by a single individual. These passionate people give HISA members avenues to network and participate in health informatics topics of particular significance and interest.
