Presented by Michael Hosking

Clinical Product Specialist, Orion Health
Associate Investigator, Precision Driven Health

Michael is passionate about assisting the collaboration of healthcare with electronic systems toward sustainable health systems and policies for optimal patient outcomes. He is an experienced, registered Occupational Therapist and has worked clinically for public health organisations across Victoria, Australia. Poor user experience, inefficient systems and interoperability issues provided inspiration to assist the change toward more effective healthcare system design.

Currently working at Orion Health developing their Hospital based products, his portfolio includes product management, user experience, research projects for improved clinical interfaces, international health standards and clinical decision support. He is also involved with a number of working groups including the adoption of the CHIA for NZ, Ministry of Health SNOMED Implementation group and other international groups.

His interests lie in effective, sustainable health policies and technologies facilitated by human-centred design and user experience to enable improved healthcare research, clinical workflows and health outcomes. Michael is driven to face healthcare challenges as opportunities for us to collaboratively explore new and alternative approaches with consumers and clinical users.
