Wayne Harper Senior Technology Director / CTO, Asia Pacific, Zebra Technologies

Wayne Harper is the Senior Technology Director for Zebra Technologies in Asia Pacific. He is currently responsible for Emerging Technology trends and ensuring quality Technical Engineering support across Asia Pacific. Harper has been part of the Zebra family since 1997; and is instrumental in guiding Zebra customers and partners on emerging technology trends as well as the sales and pre-sales technical support team towards the design of end-to-end technology solutions, ranging from IOT to mobility trends and empowering businesses with enterprise asset intelligence. These business-to-business solutions include wireless network designs, software application support, mobile computing and printing. Harper consults with businesses across Zebra’s key trade verticals across Asia Pacific, where he oversees the consolidation of customer requirements, business reviews and process re-organisation. Harper is also Zebra’s Asia Pacific CTO leading Zebra’s Android, Emerging Technologies and IOT initiatives throughout Asia Pacific. Harper has held numerous roles during his career with Zebra, from Training Manager, Technical Consultant to Acting General Manager. Prior to joining in 1997, Harper held managerial IT roles at major retail, finance and logistics companies throughout Australia. Harper is also one of the founding contributors to Symbol Technologies first ever GPRS Wide Area Network (WAN) mobile computer. Harper is based in Zebra’s Melbourne Australia office.

Dr Ben Connell Ophthalmologist, Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital

Ben Connell is ophthalmologist with subspecialist interest in cataract, refractive and corneal surgeries. In addition to his work at Eye Surgery Associates he is a consultant on the Corneal Unit at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

 

 


 HealthMap: Connecting patients with HIV and their doctors

Dr Karen Klassen Clinical Research Fellow, Alfred Health

Karen Klassen is a Registered Dietitian with a PhD from the University of Melbourne. She is Project Lead for HealthMap: a large multi-centre clinical trial of an online self-management support tool for people with HIV. She is passionate about using technology to help engage patients in their health.

 

 



 Implementing an EMR: A case for good governance and change management preparation

Paul Gladwell Program Manager, Health Services ICT, Mercy Health

Paul Gladwell is Program Manager of Health Services ICT at Mercy Health with a major focus at present around organisational preparation for the implementation of a clinically-led, and specifically targeted, Electronic Medical Record. Paul has over 30yrs hand-on experience encompassing strategy development, program/project/change management, analysis and design in the healthcare, finance and insurance industries across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. He has a passion for seeing appropriately validated ICT supporting clinical care and improving the patient experience through collaboration, innovation and insight. Prince2 Practitioner, Certified Enterprise Architect & Diploma of Management.

 

 The application of activity theory to assess the implementation of a chemotherapy ordering system

Prof Nilmini Wickramasinghe Professor-Director Health Informatics Management, Epworth HealthCare

Professor Wickramasinghe is an internationally recognised expert. She has researched and taught in this domain for over 20 years in Australasia, Europe and US. Currently, she is the inaugural Professor-Director at Epworth HealthCare (a not-for-profit tertiary hospital) and Deakin University’s inaugural Professor of Health Informatics Management in Australia.
